Partnership with Ebenezer School & Home for the Visually Impaired

Our long-standing partnership with Ebenezer School & Home for the Visually Impaired aims to support the diverse development of visually impaired youths in Hong Kong through various collaborative initiatives.

The Hang Lung Scholarship and Development Donation for the Visually Impaired

We partnered with Ebenezer to establish “The Hang Lung Scholarship and Development Donation for the Visually Impaired” in February 2023.  Proceeds from the HK$ 30 million fund will be used every year for scholarships and learning subsidies to support the holistic development of outstanding students and graduates of Ebenezer in pursuing their studies and career development. The Scholarship Selection Panel consists of the management of Hang Lung and representatives from Ebenezer. Outstanding visually impaired youths will be selected based on their academic performance, professional development, social commitment, and other outstanding achievements.

Sharing by the Scholarship Recipients

The scholarship provides financial assistance and supports my development, enabling me to receive specialized violin training beyond the confines of the classroom. This has significantly enhanced my skills, allowing me to perform intricate and challenging musical pieces. The sense of fulfillment drives me to practice harder, with the hope of stepping onto larger and more prestigious stages in the future.

Ding Yijie (The Hong Kong Academy of Performing Arts)

Recipient of the inaugural scholarship (2023)

The biggest support given by the scholarship is providing me with more space and motivation to explore various possibilities. On one hand, I can delve into various fields of study, broaden my horizons, and expand my knowledge. On the other hand, it has given me the opportunity to embrace university life to the full, fostering my personal growth and transformation.

Yao Ka Chun (The University of Hong Kong)

Recipient of the inaugural scholarship (2023)

Receiving this scholarship is a great honor for me. I am grateful to Hang Lung for supporting my continued learning and recognizing my efforts. After graduation, I hope to work for the charitable sector and help developing countries grow their economies, in order to make the world a more equal and better place.

Cheng T. H. (University of Cambridge)

Recipient of the second cohort of the scholarship (2024)
