Hear from our Intern

Sammy Yiu,  Manager - Retail

In 2018, I learned about the internship program launched by Hang Lung Properties in collaboration with the Hong Kong SAR Government. Beyond gaining exposure to the real estate industry, the program offered the chance to live and work in Shanghai as an intern. I saw this as a truly unique opportunity because I can not only experience the different culture and working environment from Hong Kong but also gain deeper insights into the market in Chinese Mainland. Through the interviews, I grasped a better understanding of Hang Lung’s business operations in Chinese Mainland. Given my interest in commercial real estate industry, I decided to join Hang Lung Internship Program. I saw it as a chance to acquire practical experience and figure out if this was the right career path for me.

Today, I have transformed from an intern to a Management Trainee and have graduated from the Management Trainee Program since years ago. Yet the company continues to provide ongoing development opportunities for talents. For example, I was fortunate to participate in the leadership development program designed for high-potential employees. The nearly year-long systematic training not only enhanced my management skills but also allowed me to connect with colleagues from different projects and departments. Nurturing talent has been long a core value in Hang Lung. I hope that through the internship program, more students can get to know Hang Lung better and make better plans for their future career.
