It is BabyJohn’s first time trying Art Jamming but he cooperates well with the elderly people.

(Hong Kong, April 10, 2016) The Hang Lung As One volunteer team continues to turn back time for the elderly as their “Be An Arty Youth” series of events, yesterday (April 9), brought 20 senior citizens from the Yan Chai Hospital Fong Yock Yee Neighbourhood Elderly Centre to get a taste of Art Jamming. The Hang Lung volunteers, joined by celebrity BabyJohn, got hands-on with the participants as they helped them with the drawings and inspired them with their youthful energy. A most inspiring weekend was had by all.

The Hang Lung As One volunteer team is now in its second year of organizing these “Be An Arty Youth” events, to bring the fresh breeze of youthful vigor to senior citizens from an underprivileged background. Engaging them in activities that young people of today enjoy, the program not only encourages the elderly to be physically active but also to recall and relive the happy moments from their own youthful days. The program, which has taken senior citizens on coffee tasting and art jamming expeditions, will continue with a session of making fashionable handicrafts.
