Fire Incident at Amoycan Industrial Centre (June 22, 2016, 13:30)

(Hong Kong, June 22, 2016, 13:30) A fire broke out on June 21 in Ngau Tau Kok at Amoycan Industrial Centre, a Hang Lung’s Property. Mr. Thomas Cheung, a Senior Station Officer of The Fire Services Department, has passed away in the course of his duty fighting this fire. Hang Lung Properties is deeply saddened by this, and we send our sincere condolences to his family and loved ones.

Mr. Philip Chen, Managing Director of Hang Lung Properties, and Mr. CF Kwan, Assistant Director (Corporate Communications), arrived at the scene for inspection at around 11am this morning.

Hang Lung Properties is doing its best at this point in time to assist relevant government departments in handling the on-site needs and in subsequent investigations. We will also commission authorized professionals to conduct thorough investigations afterwards.

All life is precious, we again express our deepest sorrow for the passing of Mr. Thomas Cheung. To show our respect, we have conveyed our concern to his family and loved ones via The Fire Services Department. We will provide whatever necessary support to them.

The firefighters are still working hard around the clock to bring the fire under control. We would like to extend our deepest thanks for their bravery and professionalism in the face of danger.
