(Hong Kong, March 31, 2017) As Easter is approaching, Amoy Plaza is excited to be collaborating with TAMIYA, the renowned Japanese model manufacturer, to bring you the Easter Jungle Race, with a theme combining off-road four-wheel drive vehicles (Mini 4WD) and the primitive forest. The program aims at promoting smart technology through modeling and interactive games and cultivating students’ creativity via STEM education (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics). During the promotion period, diverse programs including the TAMIYA exhibition, interactive family workshops, and a TAMIYA pop-up store will also be presented to combine education with fun for a fantastic Easter break!
From April 1 to 16, customers can take pictures at the forest decorative installations at Amoy Plaza and the world’s first 1:3 scale TAMIYA RC Lunch Box 4WD. There will also be an exhibition of classic and limited edition TAMIYA mini 4WD vehicles, hand-made models and other award-winning pieces, which are sure to satisfy fans of 4WD. Three experiential zones namely, “Solar Powered Kart”, “Easter Egg Boxing” and “Easter Egg Rolling”, will also be presented to introduce the principles and application of kinetic energy, mechanics, recycling, and renewable energy through interactive games.
During the promotion period, upon spending of HK$300 or more at Amoy Plaza with a maximum of two printed electronic receipts from different shops on the same day, customers will be entitled to participate in an interactive family workshop once to create a unique Dangun Racer or a mechanical animal. Moreover, STEM Sir, Mr. Patrick Tang Man Hon, the host of TVB’s popular kids’ program, “Kids, Think Big”, will attend the workshop as guest speaker on designated date to teach children the science of kinetic energy behind the Dangun Racer to inspire their creativity.
What’s more, on April 16 (Sunday), the “Schools Mini 4WD Tournament 2017 – Pre-Battle” will be held at Amoy Plaza. There will be a 100-meter-long mini 4WD racing track on site, providing racers an opportunity to demonstrate their ability to assemble their own 4WD vehicles, and to show off their own 4WD in action. The first six winners who finish the track within the shortest time will advance to the next stage as seeded racer in the final round of the “Schools Mini 4WDs Tournament 2017” held this summer.
