(Hong Kong, March 24, 2015) Hang Lung Group Limited (HKSE stock code: 10) and Hang Lung Properties Limited (HKSE stock code: 101) today published their annual reports themed “Insightful Vision” for the 2014 financial year running from January 1 through December 31.
The annual reports are an indispensable part of Hang Lungs efforts to present to shareholders a complete picture of the vital undertakings at the Companies. In his letters to shareholders, Mr. Ronnie C. Chan, Chairman of Hang Lung Group and Hang Lung Properties, elaborated his thoughts on the key achievements of the Companies, their strategic initiatives, prospects and challenges ahead.
Notwithstanding the challenging market landscape in mainland China, Mr. Chan believes that no other economic phenomenon will be more certain than the continued rise of China’s consumers, and this plays well into the mainstay of Hang Lung’s business on the Mainland. He is confident that the solid foundation that Hang Lung has built in mainland China in the past two decades will carry the Companies forward powerfully. Although Hang Lung’s emphasis has increasingly shifted over the past 10 years to commercial property development and investment on the Mainland, the Companies are not bearish about Hong Kong and are constantly waiting for possible market opportunities.
Mr. Chan also divulged the reasoning behind the changes made in the top management team and the need to strengthen the Companies’ corporate culture in recent years in order to enable their sustainable development and success.
On a slightly lighter note, Mr. Chan explained in his letter to Hang Lung Properties shareholders the meaning of the Company’s logo.
