At the heart of our focus on people development lies a commitment to empowering young talent through meaningful initiatives. Our Management Trainee and Internship Programs are designed to nurture bright minds, offering exciting opportunities that equip our young talents with the skills and confidence needed to thrive in a dynamic workforce. Connections speaks with the 2024 cohort and asks them what outcomes their journeys at Hang Lung have brought them so far.

Management Trainees

Six 2024 management trainees (MTs) gathered in Shanghai in July for an eight-day orientation session that combined practical training and collaborative experiences. Over the next 18 months, they will undergo rotational assignments across different departments to accumulate industry knowledge and experience, paving the way to become our future leaders.

The long-standing MT program has cultivated a strong network of graduates who are eager to share their knowledge, accelerating our learning about the industry, the Company and our careers, enabling us to confidently tackle new challenges. As a newcomer in the real estate industry, I am particularly grateful for the wholehearted support and encouragement of colleagues from various departments, which motivates me to advance my professional learning and personal growth.

It never occurred to me that I could get familiar with the Company and my cohort in such a short time. During orientation, the outward bound and team building activities helped me to learn more about myself and my teammates. Furthermore, the well-organized networking event encouraged me to explore opportunities for my professional growth with greater confidence.

Interns

During the two-month internship, young talents from diverse backgrounds joined forces. Alongside departmental placements, they also collaborated on a capstone project to enhance operational efficiency.

I appreciated how the thoughtful, collaborative efforts of my team members and the Human Resources Department created an engaging experience that provided valuable insights into my future career development. While updating sustainability guidelines for Mainland marketing events, I got the opportunity to work closely with peers from the Marketing team, cultivating a positive dynamic while developing effective communication skills. Additionally, the internship training sessions motivated me to embrace a growth mindset as I continue to explore my professional journey.

I had the pleasure to work at Plaza 66 as a Hong Kong intern. The orientation program included a sign language workshop to enrich our learning experience of interns from diverse backgrounds. It also inspired our graduation project, in which we produced a sign language tutorial video to facilitate basic conversation between our frontline staff and the hearing impaired. It was an unforgettable collaboration that a small team could accomplish such a positive achievement within a short period of time.

Being involved in the “Project Greenboard” has been a rewarding experience for me. Working closely with the local team to design creative eco-friendly activities for children and to recruit volunteers to join the program has deepened my commitment to sustainability and enhanced my passion for community engagement.
